Winning the Rising Star Award is such a tremendous honour and achievement for me, and is certainly the highlight of my career so far! It is especially meaningful as it recognises that I am on the right path in my career, and validates that what I am passionate about – continuous improvement – is valued by others in the industry. Since attending BOSS Leaders of the Future events, networking with others, and meeting industry leaders, it is clear how much the industry values hard work, enthusiasm and progressive ideas, and it is a family I am proud to be a part of. Winning this Award gas given me a huge amount of pride as there are many times and places where sometimes as a young employee your efforts and work can fall under the radar. However, when I heard my name called out… that I had won it was just amazing. It really has lifted me up in this very tough year! The responses I have had from friends. Family and colleagues since winning the award have been really great.
Winning this Award was a personal challenge of mine. I wanted to see if I had what it took to become recognised as an ‘up and comer’ in the industry by people outside of my company. To be simply told that I had been nominated was a huge achievement in and of itself, but winning it made me feel ecstatic. This Award gives me the confidence to know that people in the industry see the hard work I do and appreciate it. It also makes me feel that if I continue to work hard and progress, then one day I could be a leader in this space, which is my new long-term aim.

It gives me confidence in what I do and motivation to push myself above and beyond. Accessing Funding
In the UK, apprenticeship funding is available to support the training and development of apprentices. The funding is provided by the government through the Apprenticeship Levy, which was introduced in 2017.
