BOSS - What does the business do?
SC: Static Control is a Toner Cartridge & Components Supplier.
BOSS - When and how was the business established?
SC: Static Control was a static-shielding bag company when it first opened its doors in 1987. Based on customer demand, the company opened an imaging division and has been involved in the imaging aftermarket ever since. We are still listening to our customers and develop our product catalogue based on their needs and requests.
What started as one specialised item grew to include thousands of products for the growing aftermarket, including OPC drums, toner, and microchips.
BOSS - How has the business developed since its inception?
SC: Static Control changed the imaging aftermarket. Its ability to keep up with the technological demands of cartridges throughout the years helped continue the industry. The company has been the technology leader for imaging components for over three decades. Simply put, no one knows the inner workings of a toner cartridge better than Static Control. The company leveraged its deep knowledge of cartridges' internal workings and began offering its own toner and inkjet cartridges. Each solution is manufactured with Static Control technology to ensure premium, reliable performance.
Static Control doesn’t rely on vendors to lead how or with what components to build our cartridges. We know exactly the right combination for perfection in toner and inkjet cartridges thanks to decades of research and development of the internal components along with our vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities. Each cartridge delivers a premium level of performance that is unmatched in the industry.
Our system-matched approach to imaging systems means we know and consider every detail within a cartridge, from the electrical charge variances of components to the microscopic additives added to toner, and how it all must work together to deliver beautiful prints from start to finish.
BOSS - What achievements or specialisms is the company particularly proud of?
SC: Our products are unique because we are the only aftermarket provider manufacturing cartridges using a system-matched approach. We also have vertically integrated manufacturing facilities, which means each component, microchip, toner, and ink goes through rigorous quality control processes and is system-matched. The cartridges are then assembled using the most advanced techniques to deliver optimal performance. Those cartridges are tested again through our own demanding programme of quality assurance. This unequalled approach allows Static Control to control every step of production to meet the highest quality standards. This matters because even before they test cartridges, they control the parts to meet exceedingly high quality and performance standards.
Static Control has also recently earned some industry awards. It was awarded the Supplier of the Year by Recycler Magazine earlier this year, after winning Customer Service of the Year in 2023. It has also been recognised as one of the most trusted brands by NTN Magazine.
BOSS - Why has the company decided to join BOSS?
SC: As a major supplier of cartridges, we are already working with a large number of partners in the business supplies area. Joining BOSS was a natural fit to further cement our commitment to the industry. Like them, we are committed to the channel’s future, including working within important aspects such as environmental issues and key legislations in the future.
BOSS - What aspects of BOSS’s offerings is the company most looking forward to utilising, and why?
SC: We look forward to networking opportunities that allow us to meet customers along with introducing ourselves to new businesses and how we can help them in their cartridge category. We are also excited to be a part of the environmental conversation. We are a large supplier of remanufactured cartridges which are very eco-friendly and reduce waste. Static Control is committed to helping create a cleaner Europe.
