All about Creative Cove
Creative Cove was established in 2006 but came into my hands in January 2018. The shop has gone through some incredible transformations since then. We serve a large area for a small independent shop, with people travelling many miles to get to us, due to the wonderful location of rural West Wales! We’re a small team – I have three employees and myself. It’s a small shop, and it certainly punches above its weight! I’m a firm believer in offering quirky and beautiful products and creating a story with your customers, a reason I believe they keep coming back.
Growth and Achievements
This year has been the first year that I have offered a commercial package as well as the main retail side of things. It’s been exciting speaking to the business customers in the local area and creating opportunities to grow the business whilst at the same time, keeping more of the local economy actually local. Having been purely retail based for six years, it’s been a learning curve focusing on the business side, but it has been worth every second. For each of the 6 years I’ve been trading, the business has grown, that’s even with all the lockdowns, Brexit and the current war in Ukraine affecting supply chains.
Successful Shortlisting
I’m absolutely honored to have been shortlisted for a second year running. It’s been a tough year for me mentally and I really didn’t think that anything I had put down in the application had been worthy enough of getting shortlisted. So it’s just lovely to have been considered, for people to think I’m doing a good enough job and to be shouting about businesses like mine – it’s so validating!
