Sean Starkey resigns from the BOSS Board
It is with sadness and gratitude that the BOSS Federation would like to announce that Sean Starkey has resigned from his position on the BOSS Board. Sean has contributed greatly to BOSS throughout his active tenure, bringing his wisdom and industry experience from his roles at Spicers, GBC (latterly ACCO Brands), Snopake and Durable. He chaired the BOSS Manufacturer's Forum from 2011- 2013 and held the position of Vice Chairman of the BOSS Board from 2013-14 and Chairman from 2014 -16.
BOSS Chairman, Simon Drakeford comments,"Sean has been an outstanding member and Chairman of the BOSS Board dedicating an enormous amount of his time to serve our industry and its Trade Federation. The whole Board and I will miss his contributions and wish him the best for the future."
Philip Beer, MD of Hamelin Brands and fellow Board member comments, "Sean will be missed from the BOSS Board as well as from the Manufacturers Forum where in both he served as Chairman and a very diligent one indeed. He oversaw the change of CEO from Michael Gardner to Philip Lawson and was always very clear and logical in his advice to the board. We will miss him."
Geoffrey Betts, MD of Stewart Superior and fellow board member comments, "It has been my pleasure to have worked with Sean on the BOSS Board for many years, including his tenure as Chairman. I have always admired and been grateful for his counsel on many occasions. The industry will miss him but I'm excited for his future and to see what opportunities he creates for himself and his family. I wish him every success."
BOSS CEO, Amy Hutchinson comments, "I have found Sean's advice and clear counsel so valuable over the last three years and am ever grateful for his insight, ideas, and advocacy for BOSS throughout his time on the Board. I look forward to seeing what Sean does next."
Sean Starkey comments, "It has been a true pleasure serving on the BOSS Board for some 14 years and indeed being part of our Industry for 35 years. I have always wanted to return to the countryside an area where I grew up, so whilst it is with some degree of trepidation, I am embarking on a new life on our Shropshire smallholding and working with my wife on her Interior Design and Supply business and taking on a couple of new Non-Exec or Consultancy roles in due course to replace those I am vacating. I would like to use the opportunity to say how much I will miss so many people in our Industry and hope to stay in touch with as many of you as possible."
The BOSS Board would like to thank Sean for his support of BOSS.
